Photos of ballast pumps in a RZ4?

Does anyone have any photos of ballast pumps installed in an RZ4?

I just picked up a low hour cream puff ’08 RZ4 but it doesn’t have any ballast at all.

I have three reversible pumps that I was going to install in my other boat, but have commandeered the hardware for the new (old) RZ4

I plan on running four bags for now, two front and two rear, hooking the reversibles to the rear bags with the third as a cross-over pump. Then hooking up two more aerators for filling the front bags and two more aerators for the front dumps over the side in the front (hopefully I can dump both of them over the driver’s side)

So, could the RZ4 owners share some pics?

    Thanks, Eric.

    Eric,

If you are looking for pics of the 08 OEM ballast pump system, I would recommend not duplicating it, as I believe the 4 aerator pumps were on a common manifold and drawing from the transom. I think it was the 09 model year that they placed each pump on its own thru-hull through the bottom.

No reason you cant route the port side bow sac drain over to the STBD side, but keep in mind that the further the pump has to push, the slower its flow rate will be.

Not looking to replicate any older systems.

I had purchased three reversibles for my other boat which I hadn't gotten to installing yet, so I plan on running them in the RZ4 for the rear bags.

Just wanted to see what some others had installed, especially as the reversibles take up extra room. If someone has already done it, (this cant be the only RZ4 that has had a non-factory ballast install!) I would like to know where they placed the pumps.

As the new (to us) RZ4 has nothing at all for a ballast system, it is a fresh sheet.

      Thanks, Eric

IMO, one of the most ideal locations for the reversible pumps is mounted to front wall of the engine bay, which is the back side of the rear bench seat back. This get them above the bilge, as they are not waterproof and not taking up storage space. For a cross-over pump, it can be mounted on the starboard side by the TAPS motor.
