2001 23V Tips

We own a 2001 23V and absolutely love this boat. We use it for pretty much anything and everything on the lake including skiing, wakeboarding, wake surfing, tubing, cruising, etc. Wanted to know if anyone had any tips about upkeep, as well as any advice on how to add a cost effective balast or two that would enhance the wake for boarding and/or surfing, without getting in the way of the other uses of the boat.

Welcome to the site BigFish. Post some pictures of your boat. Where are you located. If you search there are many threads on ballast installs. You can PM Chpthril, if he doesn't chime in, he can help you design and get you all the parts that you need. He is great to work with. When designing a system there are several things to keep in mind. i.e. bidget, speed, etc... I would try to go as big as you can so you don''t regret it or have to redo it later down the road. Are you using any sacs now? Many have started with large sacs and used manual pumps for a year or so then gone to installing an integrated system. Once you start there is lots of help on here.

If you guys are surfing, you should really have an FAE. Whatever they are charging these days, its worth it. I think they are around $500 or so. Best upgrade ever.

What tower do you have? It might be getting time to replace it if it is the factory tower.
