    2012 Z3 Ballast

    Hey guys,

    I have recently purchased a new 2012 Z3. IS there any need to upgrade the ballast for surfing ?

    My boat come's with the Surf ballast package but if need be I will upgrade it before taking it out.

        No convex VX as this boat was left over from last year. I will post some pics when I get home from work.

            Great lookin boat! I'm sure others will weigh in, but chpthril is definitely the one to talk with for ballast related ?'s!!!

                Nice looking boat! The Z3 needs as much front weight as you can get for surfing. I'm sure Chpthril can get you set up with custom rear sacs but the Z3 likes to be weighted differently than all the other Tige's in the fleet. It likes weight spread all over the boat.

                        He is referring to a limited number of early production Z3's that had substantial chines, which were significantly changed. Yours does not have them, and is the revised (current) hull shape. More reading on the topic: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...t=early+chines

                          Thanks yes I did read about that before I purchased my boat. It was built in June so it is the later hull.
