your recomendations please

2001 21v riders ed.

we just started surfing with "redneck" ballast program (5 big coolers of water and friends) until i start buying the fat sacs.

But I would like advise on how to best lay out ballast as well as an order in which to buy these if I do not want to drop too much money at one time.

If it was me I would start with the biggest sac that you can get for the rear locker. I say biggest because if not you will be kicking your self because you are having to buy more. Right off I do not know what size for that boat but you could check with Chpthril. After getting weight in the rear you can then put some in the front.

I am sure that the 21v owners can pipe in and tell you exactly what they are using.

I have an 01 2100V and for about 225 you can get a 700lb fat sack with pump. You can almost fill it all the way up in the rear compartment. Then i have the people with me sit in the seats on that side of the boat. I think it works good. I have a better surf wake than most of my friends. I will eventually buy another sack for the side compartment and then the front.

An 1100# fat sac won't quite fill to 1100lbs but you'll get a lot more weight in it than if you go with a 750# sac in the rear locker.
Then place a 400# sac on the surf side seat, maybe one person up in the bow and you'll get a beautiful wave. I had slightly more than that in the photo below and I wouldn't advise to weight it like I did here. I was the only boat out other than my brother's which is how the photo was taken.
