    Leaking Ballast Pump

A friend of mine noticed that the bilge pump was running quite a bit as he was getting ready to pull my RZR up while I was backing the trailer down last Sunday. Just before I got off the boat to go and get the truck, I hit 'Empty All' on the TT to drain the ballast.

Just before the ballast had completely finished, he opened the hatch under the rear, center seat and noticed that one of the pumps for the rear ballast was leaking badly from the white plug on the side. I actually forgot about it until now. We were only on the boat for a little while and never took any water in but the bilge had a decent amount of water in it.

I've actually always noticed that a decent amount of water seems to drain from the drain plug when I pull it on the ramp. I'm guessing this pump has been leaking for awhile or maybe it has always leaked.

Should I just unscrew the white plug, put some loctite on it and then tighten it back down? This could have something to do with some of the issues we've had getting the wake dialed in from side to side and keeping it consistent. He said it was letting quite a bit of water out.

If its the plug for the dual-outlet port thats not used, then thread it out, put some pipe-dope on it and thread it back in.

x2. Don't use just teflon tape - use actual dope meant for PVC. Keep it off the first couple of threads so you don't get any in the body of the pump. Screw it in, wipe up any excess, and test. Should be good to go!
