    First Weekend on 22Ve/Lake Austin

This was our first weekend on the boat as well as surfing. Thanks Mike (chpthril ) for the advice on the ballast setup. Now I just need to play around with it and see what gives us our best overall.

Thanks Duncan..... I have the factory ballast system (2/250 hard tanks in rear and 400 in bow). There are 2 batteries in rear port side cabinet against hard tank. I took an Enzo sac and stuffed it in the rear and ran under seats and fill as much as possible. I plan to play with Taps as well as additional weight in the front this weekend. It is a work in progress but hope to have it tweaked in a couple weeks with some help.

Thank you sir! Speed was set around 10.6 and taps around 3.5 - 4. I plan to play with taps and extra weight in bow this weekend and see what happens. Keep you guys posted for sure. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry for the delay guys.. After a few weekends of adjusting, I believe I have found my most consistent setup. I'm running the port rear factory ballast full (250#) along with the Fat Sac W712/Enzo Sac as full as I can get it. Speed set @ 10.8 with Taps @ 4. I tried adding weight to the bow and adjusting Taps but this setup gave me the best overall push and wake height in my opinion. Hopefully the pic does it some justice. For comparison reasons I am 6'1" @ 195lbs.

I'm sure I will continue to tweak it as I progress and gain more knowledge in doing so. In the meantime, I am more than pleased with this setup not to mention constantly impressed with the 22Ve. Thanks again Ragboy and Mike/Liquid Audio for pointing me in the right direction. Hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend and stay wet!!

That wave is coming along great....I am now running the 1200 lb custom sac and two 400 lb sacs on the seat....I run this when there is only three of us in the boat. At this weight I run taps at 3 and speedset at 10.8.....which is 11.2 according to gps. taps at 4 will produce a steeper wake but I am finding I like the wake less steep.

3 of us up here in the Northwest (Lancehon, MLS and myself) have had good results with different set-ups. I like my Ve less steep so I run custom sack full surf side, 300 opposite side, 155lb fat brick on the rear seat and no front weight taps at 4 speed at 11.6.

For a steeper wake Lance and MLS have been running full custom surf side, 400 opposite rear, and full bow sack. Lance throws a 400lb sack on the rear seat.

From what I can tell the opposite side weight in the rear has been the key to more push.

Lance, MLS- did I miss anything?

Thanks Glassmaker and Majestic! Exactly the type of feedback and advice I'm looking for to get my set up right! I'll be sure to try the Taps @ 3 as well as some weight on the opposite side. Thanks again guys!!

Nope, hit the nail on the head we've been running 12 mph and taps at 6

Wow, thanks Lance! Never thought to run at that speed or with Taps that high. Will definitely give it a shot.

The speed gives me length and the taps will give me the height, and with some weight on the opposite side rear you get a lot of push
