    2006 24Ve ballast help

Hey just wondering if anybody had any insight on ballast for my 2006 24Ve? I just bought this boat and I just want to add fatsacs and was wondering the best weight configuration and setup for doing this. There is no ballast system currently installed in the boat. I do majority surfing but I also wakeboard. Help

There's a lot of helpful people here, but I suggest your first step is to read, read, read the countless threads on this site that address the exact topic of adding ballast. Those existing discussions have a ton of information and will give you a baseline from which we can then offer specifics.

I recently installed a system in my 2007 rz2. Very similar to yours. Mine didn't have ballast and I believe the general setup is the same in the 22ve and the rz2. Chpthril sold me everything I needed - highly recommended. There are some significant decisions you want to make. Budget, speed of fill/drain, how involved you want to get with the install, what type of pump you like better, do you want a surf setup or wakeboard setup, etc. I spent a ton of time installing mine, probably 80 hours. I went to great lengths in an effort to maximize my surf wave. I also spent a grundle and did all the work myself -- welding, electrical, carpentry, and so on. There are a bunch of things I learned in the process. The problem with boats is that everything isn't made by one company. You really need know where to get all the parts and pieces you need to get it done. Home Depot has some stuff, but you really need to get the good stuff from weird suppliers. An example is, I bought my wires from home depot. I could have bought the generic crimp connectors there as well, but I found an electrical shop that sold me connectors that crimp, have heat shrink wrap, and solder in them. These connectors are as good as they get and will make for a better system in the long run, water tight, soldered, and crimped..... Don't over cook them with your heat gun and you'll have solder squirting out. I am more than happy to share my experience if you have any questions.
