Congrats on the install. I really like your improved and larger access hole for the v drive. I have been thinking about doing that. What did you use as a cover? I guess if you ever have trouble with your vents leaking water out when you don't want it you could always just switch each vent to the other side without to much trouble. Enjoy your new set up.

Reviewing this again, I don't think it mattered which kind of thruhull was used. The forward-facing thruhulls do generate pressure, but that pressure will be up against the impeller blades. If the pump is not running, the incoming water won't prime because there is no way for the air in the line to bleed off. Once the pump is turned on, it will evacuate the air itself as it self-primes.
So I don't think it mattered. The pumps will work perfectly now, and would have worked perfectly with standard thruhulls too.

Remarkable. These impeller pumps can draw a vacuum, which means they must be airtight. I'm surprised an airtight pump would passively allow air or water to flow through. Good to know!

I think it was like $40. I can't remember now.

Nautique systems do the same thing. Looks good but a sea trial without wake pics is an epic fail!!!!!Get us some pics will ya!!
All the issues that people told me would be a problem, or had me scared that I had did my setup wrong didn't occur. No passive filling, no passive draining, and the speedo worked fine. We were on a river so I think that was a factor with the speedo being a little goofy.

The unique thing about pyramid is not the wally's wife holding the boat at the launch ramp, it's the yahoos that will be pulling tubes 30' behind the boat ramp all day long. But get a mile away and it's like you're the last boat on earth. Can be heaven (and hell) on the right day.
