    2012 Tige rzr

Hi all, new to this forum and to Tige Boats. Always loved them and just as of recent, I have approached a dealer to trade in my 2006 Supra 21v. The deal is going together rather quickley to take advantage of promotions ending march 15th.

My question is related to ballast/ prop. I'm sure some one has figured out a ballast system that is hidden, works for wakeboarding and can be easily converted into a surf setup. I read one thread about an Enzo sac fitting. I'm sure that works great for only surfing but I'm looking for a set up for both.

I am in the process of ordering a fully loaded rzr with surf ballast package. Also, as I know from my Supra, when you start loading up the boat with more water, you also need a prop to reflect.

In summary, what plug & play ballast bags do you suggest and prop. Boat will be ordered with the PCM 343. I look forward to your comments. I have a few days to order!

    Cheers!

Well first off welcome to the site.Congratulations on your new Tige!CHPTHRIL is our site specialist on ballast.I believe Bspot had a plug-n-play system in his boat. All you have to do with the plug-n-play bags is fold the leg that fills under the seats back under the portion of the bag in the rear lockers. As for a different prop i have no clue.IT depends on what elevation you boat at and how big your crew will be.Happy Boating!

Stock prop was just fine for me even with the extra weight. When I wakeboard I usually didn't fill the rear bags, just the tanks.

The RZR comes with levels of ballast:

Base level is 900lbs and consists of 2 250lb in-floor hard tanks in the rear lockers and a 400 lb bow sac.

The Surf Level is 1600 lbs. This is done by adding a pair of 350 lb sac in the rear lockers.

Pro Level is 2000 lbs. This is done by replacing the 400 lb bow sac with a pair of 400 lb sac.

In addition to this, We have some custom surf sacs that can go in place of the OEM 350# sacs. These are Plug-n-Play if you have the Surf or Pro level option.

If you are ordering the boat, then get the Pro level. If you are getting one from dealer inventory, let us know what ballast option it has.

As far as I know, Tige is still using the same strut, so the ACME 1235 could be a prop upgrade option. If its too tall, then you can just drop down in pitch a little from the 537's 16 pitch. Maybe something like the 1631.

I am factory ordering. I do not believe the pro ballast is an option...only 1600lbs surf ballast is max.

For some reason, i thought the R20 was the only V-drive that the Pro level wasn't offered. Either way, the rear setup is the same. For the bow sac, its and easy mod to swap out the single sac for a pair of 400# sacs. Tige already has dual fill and drain pumps, so all you have to do is split the vent hose so it will connect to each new sac.

Tige is also offering to have 2 200lbs instead of the single 400 lbs sac with the surf set up. If that helps at all.

Is there any benifit to go with the 2- 200lbs sacs in the bow vs 1 400 lbs sac?

Thats a question that no one has yet to give a clear answer on......is having 400lb just on the surf side of the bow better then 400 lbs across the bow.

IMO, no, especially for wake-boarding. A few have already discovered that 400 in the bow is not enough, so two 200# sacs still equals not enough

Awesome, can you pm me with pricing for the 2- 400lbs sacs and the two rear surf sacs. From what I understand, for the rear bags, you can just fold the bag under the sac for wakeboarding and extend the bag under the seats for surfing and just set timers for each setting.

Also as you mentioned the two 4oolbs sacs are avaliable for the front and someone also mentioned that you can factory order with two 200 lbs sacs vs 1 400. I would think that the 2- 200lbs sacs would be the way to go to easily plug and play for the 2- 400 lbs up front? do the 400lbs bags fill full?

Thanks to all for feedback and the welcome to the Tige Crew. I am doing a one off RZR with All black, mushroom pannel with graphite pannel trim and brow. Interior will be mushroom where the white is 80% of interior, Graphite secondary colour and minimal white.

Should be a beauty...I am pumped to factory order a boat that will fit in the garage. that being said, I am getting a tower soc cover made to protect from bugs when trailering. Also going to get the dealer to install a roswell c4 lightbar! Does anyone have comments on that lightbar on the Alpha tower or have a better suggestion?

                        I will post some pics.

The benefit of 2 200s would be for surfing. You would have the ability to get more weight on one side instead of only being able to fill the entire front of the boat with a single 400. Since its called the surf ballast it makes sense to split it. As for Wakeboarding I don't think it matters. Not to mention the average buyer does not need more the 1600 lbs.

Yes, I understand the theory. I've been trying to get it proven/dis-proven for a couple years now. The question still begs to be answered, does 200 in the bow on just the surf side actually improve the ballast over 400 spread across the bow?????
