Thanks Wakeman. There was no weight up front. I have the single U shaped sac in the bow. I'll try it next time to see what it does.

Today I completed the carpeting and adding stiffeners to the side walls. Here are the pictures. Not too exciting. Sure would rather be showing pictures of surfing.

Yes, it IS exciting. You're doing a great job, and just imagine how much fun it's going to be this summer. You'll be doubly proud - that your family and friends are having a great time on your boat, and that YOU personally did the work!

We have 07 22Ve w similar setup with 1000lb custom bag on port side and factory tank on strbd. FAE too w mods done by Chpthril. We run at two diff speeds; A) 10.5 mph w TAPs at 5 and the wave is very tall but shorter length or B) 11.5 mph w TAPs at 4.5 for reduced height but much longer wave. thats w 2 peeps onboard and does pretty well. If more people, as expected wave is taller/longer depending on # of peeps. No weight up front and gonna play w that this summer.

What about finding a poly shop to fabe you a custome hard tank (removeable) to go into the locker. It can be tall and will hold as much as an Enzo.

Anyone think the stiffeners are needed in the motor panels? I have an rz2 and just completed the ballast install. My bags max out the rear lockers. I haven't done a full test water test to see if they flex. I installed new aluminum channels on the bottom or the motor panels, but forewent the installation of stiffeners. The panels seem solid, but I also didn't see a little flex as being much of a problem. What is your experience?

My panels are made of 1/2" Azek - it is a PVC like material and has a bit more flex than plywood. The factory panels were made of a different type of plastic and seemed a bit more dense than the Azek.

I ran two runs without the stiffeners and the panels had bowed quite a bit. Probably almost 2" of deflection in the middle.

I have not been out since completing the panels, but they are much stiffer now.

You can always add them later if you see too much deflection.

jbort, it was chpthril's thread showing the work on your boat that was my inspiration and main guide for this mod. Of course, Chpthril said he had a bout 1 full day of work in the mod, and I took quite a bit longer

I'll be much faster on the next one I do.

My panels are factory, 2007. Could be starboard, about 1/2" thick. I'll have to see what they are like. Although I don't think the manifold will melt the stuff, it will be interesting. I found starboard in thicker sizes (5/8"), but it is really expensive - about 300 a 4x8 sheet plus shipping. I found another composite that seems really strong, it's about 1/2 the price. I could always add stiffeners as well. Less I have to deal with the better. It took me a ton of time installing my system and I'm somewhat tired of playing boat in my yard. Thanks
