Thanks. I sent my information to Acme and response from Greg... " if you have the clearance, the 4-blade Acme 1847 (14 x 14.25 .150 cup) L 11/8" would make a nice wake surfing prop. You would need an extra 1/4" from blade tip to hull...the clearance should be at least 1" in total. "
I'll have to do some measuring, not sure if my 2005 22V with 340 hp has the same clearance as yours.
He based his rec on apx 75% surfing, 25% other: wakeboard, skate, ski, tube, cruise. It looks like the 1617 is a bit more surfing aggressive. Tempting to consider.

That's much more clearance than I've ever heard required in the past.

Sorry for the late replay, this one slid past me some how. Yes, I am an ACME prop dealer.

The older V hull doesnt have the same degree of rocker as the newer Ve hull, so the larger props like the 1235 do get close to the hull. .25" is getting real close, but 1.0" seems to be be quite a cushion though. Regardless, the 1847 is dropping down 1.75" in pitch and going up .5" in Dia over the stock 537, so thats a good change. It will offer better speed holding, have less cavitation with only minimal RPM rise. The 1617 also 14" dia, but .75 less pitch. This would be a strong holeshot, but with a rise in RPM at higher speeds.

I measure 7 3/4" center hub to hull. This should give plenty of room for even 14.5 diameter. The "prop finder" on WakeProps website lists 2003-2006 22v 2+ and 3+ upgrades respectively as 1273 and 1235. It seems that they would be accurate in this case.
The Acme recommendation of the 1847 sounds reasonable, and I appreciate Chp's elaboration of RPM effect. But it does seem like I get more boat specific knowledge on this TO site. There seems to be a real tendency towards the 1235 if it fits. Paying $$ for a prop upgrade, I do want to see a worthwhile difference.
By the way, would anyone care to explain "cup" differences?
          Thanks.

This guy does a good job. Cup adds bite/hold without changing the dia or pitch. The 1273 and 1235 are the same prop, with different cup.

I recommend using those chart with caution. They do not take into account that there was a number of years where Tige used both the 1:1 gear, which is best fitted with a 3 blade, and the 1.46:1 gear, which is best fitted with a 4 blade.

Any developments in the ballast weighting.

We were wondering how to weigh our 2005 22v to maximize Port wave!

Leadwake has the best bags if he has anything available. leadwake AT yahoo DOT com.

I have them and I would rank them like this from a quality standpoint:
                      1) Lead Wake
                      2) Bomb Wake
                      3) Pop Bags

                      Just my opinion though.

Also, a friend tried to buy some recently and Leadwake was out of lead at the time. Good luck!
