      Sorry for the off topic.

I've only tried kiteboarding once. It was about impossible conditions and it didn't go very well. I was extremely disappointed. At the time, I was doing a lot of wakeboarding and a lot of kite flying. I had flown a lot kites at that point. Everything from a box kite to foils to indoors to four liners. I still have an original Hawaiian. I figured I was the perfect candidate. I sat out there for two hours in 0-15mph gusts, flopping around like clubbed fish. I got a grand total of zero rides. I vowed to try again someday. Maybe its time.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

I have been to S.A. on a Safari in 2001. Had a blast. I used to fly big kites. The kind that drag you around and pull you off the ground. That was before kiteboarding was invented. Never kiteboarded though. I used to compete in windsurfing and was very good at it. Have lots of trophies to prove it. Competed in sailing but was not as good. What is SUP? PM sent

              Nicky, kieboarding highly recommended.
Nobody is going to get going in 0-15Mph.
Once you get going & can stay upwind,(most people take 2-3 months) the time spent vs satisfaction ratio, I think, is not bettered by many sports.
The key, when learning, is to have steady winds, makes life alot easier.
JReis, your wave looks 200% better than we managed, so time to go play again.
              Thanks for the input.

At the time, I knew it was going to be next to impossible. I had flown enough kites to know it was gonna suck. It was my last day in Maui though and I wasn't about to back out. I've actually got a spot less than 2 miles from my house that is pretty nice for kiteboarding. I see guys out there quite a bit. Might have to rent a set up.
