Looking like your gaining some more room in there. If you like the dremel tool you should try out the Fein multimaster or supercut way more power. Looks good keep the pics coming. Are you going to do custom sacs now?

It's not a 2x6. It's appears to be straight up stinger material, encapsulated in fiberglass. See if you can get a hold of Eddie G at Tige. He should be able to tell you.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Good work Nicky! I have one of those Dremels also. Which blade have you been using?

I thought that was what you were asking.

Thanks TA. I burned up a wood/drywall blade real quick. Bought one of the wood/drywall/metal blades and it has held up way better. Worth the extra $10 IMO.

Great, thanks! I'm all over one of those the next time I'm in at Lowes or HD. It seems like I'm usually making due with what I have rather than getting something more effective.

I had some family in town last week and didn't get anything done. It was nice to get back into it yesterday. Got the sub-stringers notched and sanded. I decided to leave a little of them exposed so that they maintain some of their strength to the bottom of the hull. Probably could just cut them all the way off but, I went this way instead. Got some more trimming and cleaning up of the hull done ax well. I'm a firm believer in prep work. The more you do, the better it will turn out.

Went down and talked to my glass guy and showed him my little project just to get his thoughts on finishing off my new ballast lockers. He gave me a few different approaches, all of which will work just fine. Just depends on how involved I want to get with it. The main thing was, he gave me a thumbs up on my progress and project overall. He knows what he's talking about and I trust what he says so, I feel much better about the whole thing now. Went home and started cutting panels.

I'm starting with the floor section for the tank and working out from there. I didn't quite finish fitting it but, its getting there. Still need to notch for the bilge, fuel line and blower.

looking good, are you going to glass or paint the bottom of the boards before they go in, or glass the hole thing first and then install?

Topaz- I'm going to build everything and then disassemble it and then finish each part individually and then reassemble. It's not going to be glassed in. I want to be able to pull it all appart for easy access to everything back there, mainly the steering cable.

Mike- Thanks man. I somehow doubt too many people have gone this far for a stupid 500#.

                                Looking real good.

You are a brave and industious man to takle such a job.

Makes drilling a few holes for thru hulls seem rather like child's play.

Thanks for sharing and the pics....
