    Attwood 1200 4663-7

Has anyone used the tsunami 4663-7? Curious as why all of the threads I read peolpe are still using the 1 1/8" inlet pumps when attwood makes a 1" NPT inlet pump that would simplify install.I did a search and only found 1 thread back in may 2009.
chpthril was invloved in the thread so maybe he will chime in.

I can't seem to find a picture anywhere. Anybody have a picture of this pump?

I believe the 1.125 inch fitting is on the OUTLET and meant for connection to a hose. The INLET is 1.0 inch NPT, in this case to screw to a seacock or other valve.

As an aside, even if they did put NPT on the outlet it wouldn't work for connecting hose. That's a classic error that has caused many problems. Pipe threads do NOT make good hose fittings. You want a barbed fitting designed specifically for use with a hose.

      Hope this helps!

I agree with you but if you go to wakemakers or other ballast web sites they sell the tsunami 1200 with 1 1/8 on inlet and outlet. Also if you search ballast threads it seems as though everyone uses the pump with 1 1/8 inlet and if there is one available with 1" NPT inlet why are people not using it?

As stated in that thread from 2009, I spoke with two people at Attwood. Both stated there was not a new 1200 gph pump coming.....or even in the works. I took a quick look at both my distributors, and neither is carrying the 4663-1 (Attwood's number) or the 4663-7 (aftermarket). It fell off my radar once Attwood said it wasn't happening.

@ WA, the Attwood Tsunami series pumps come with a threaded outlet on the pump and a barbed x threaded fitting in the package for threading on the outlet (or inlet) and connecting a hose.

I have seen them for sale on a couple web sites and they are cheapier than the 1200 with 1 1/8 threads. Has anyone ever seen one ? I would think ballast install shops such as wakemakers would be aware of these and sell them. The reason I am asking is I thought for sure without a dought I was going with impellar pumps for my install and the closer I get to purchasing them the more I am looking at tsunami pumps cause of cost and long term cost replacement if something goes bad, I also like the power draw and low noise of the tsunami

Well, I seen no reason to not go with them, nothing new or revolutionary about them. 1' bronze fittings are readily available and they seem to be the same Tsunami motor, just in a body with a 1' NPT inlet. Based on testing, id say that the T1200 4663 would yield about 1000 GPH.

I'm still contemplating impellar pumps but starting to lean toward tsunami. Thanks for the info still curious why this style isn't Commonly used al least for the inlet manifolds

Well, my two distributors do not stock it and im a couple thousand units a year shy of buying direct from Attwood

Tsunamis are good pumps, but take a look at Rule too. Many here (including me) ended up using Rule after considering all the options. The nice thing is, there are lots of choices!

I used the 1200 tsunami's. The inlet was not a problem for my manifold.
                      Let it be!!!
