24Ve maximum ballast writeup...

It would be fun to put my boat on a scale and really see how much ballast it is. Measure before and then fill with a hose. I bet I over estimate. I bet it weights less then we think.

I could see you gaining some room by removing the wall like he did. He fit the biggest sacs in possible which is rad!. Also are boats aren't the same. Similar hulls but my boat cooler stopped the sac from being able to be longer. I actually hate my cooler location!!

The gain wouldn't be worth the effort. And I love my ballast system. My transom sac is 240, which is a lot. The chine removal are gonna make the wave!

You can't be making a wake being that close. My buddy that is a boat cop said he would charge us with a bunch of stuff.

Interesting. You're on Pend Orielle, right? That's a different county than mine (Kootenai). Maybe the water cops here are better.

That said, one of the advantages of Twin Lakes is that everybody drives past us on the way to some other lake (such as yours!). It's a rare weekday that we have the sheriff's boat on our lake. We might want to set this up for a quiet weekday to minimize questions. Even then, I don't think anyone would care. If we explain to the cops what we are doing and why, they'd probably want to come back after their shift and give it a go!

I just watched the Wheelhouse 247 video on the slash tank site and I have to say WABoating, Duff, and Ragboy can give that wake a run for its money with the 24's and the new Z3. Still pictures look amazing from a second boat but the video and the relative size of the ridder tell the whole story. I can't wait to see what Ragboy and the master weightier can get out of the Z3.

OK, I watched it. I'm comfortable that we can match and exceed that with at least Duffy's and my 24Ve, and likely RagBoy's Z3 once it's ballasted properly.

I doubt your trailer is rated for that much weight. I also don't know if I'd want to concentrate that much weight on the bunks.

Here is my favorite still from him. He is running as much weight plus a power wedge. So that is the advantage.

Yeah, but just in case his curiosity got the better of him.

I wonder if there's some sort of compressed-air system that has a gauge that reads in delivered cubic feet. Filling with air would be the same volume as filling with water, and then we'd be able to know for certain what these systems are delivering.

a flow meter would work also. Just meter how many actual gallons went in.
