Hey duffy, I'm kinda surprised you haven't removed the floor and the cooler yet. These are totally doable mods and it doesn't seem like your style to not get everything you can out of it. The wheelhouse wave is impressive but, its not unattainable. That thing is maxxed out by the looks of it. Any further and the rear corner is gonna be under water while under way. How much farther do you have to go? Your wave (or WABs for that matter) doesn't appear to be far off from the wheelhouse wave.
Just sayin. If your gonna be down there during chine removal anyways, leave the floor out. It you guys are gonna be cutting anyways, cut that stupid cooler out. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Well chine removal and floating wedge are the first mods. Floating wedge should provide 800#s of downforce. I asked Tige about install those tanks under the floor and they are getting back to me with dimensions. I like the idea of the tanks for wakeboarding.Build thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v

Just a word of caution that not all Tige's have the removable floor! I inquired with Tige about my 2007 RZ2, and it has a fully glassed floor that is not removable, apparently if the boat was available with the "under floor tanks" as an option, then the floor is removable if it was not an option like mine, then it is not removable. This senario applies to the 2007 & 2008 RZ2, as they started adding the under floor tanks in 2009 and up.

Hey ID I just picked up the same boat that you own and have seen your amazing wave and your auto wake technology. I was wondering if you could share with me your pitch and roll angles you get while sitting and up to speed as well as your setup. We ride goofy and regular as well. We are planning to do a big modification to the rear lockers over the winter also. We had a good wave all last week but then went out today and filled up the same weight and speed and taps but it didn't seem as good. Thanks for your help

As you decide what to do, definitely plan on lots of bow ballast - especially for goofy side surfing. Right now we have a single 400 pound horseshoe sac under the seats up there, but someday I'm going to swap that out for a pair of Fly High's, one on each side. They won't fill completely in that space but they will give us more than the horseshoe, which when full now leaves quite a bit of unfilled volume. When surfing goofy we have to have at least one adult sit up there in addition to the horseshoe, or put our spare 400 pound Fly High sac on the bow seats. I cannot overstate how much difference this makes in cleaning up the goofy side wave. Some have suggested that with enough bow weight our goofy wave is actually cleaner and better than our normal wave.
We have three speeds programmed for surfing: 10.8, 11.0, and 11.4. We choose based on rider preference. Doesn't seem to need ballast or TAPS adjustment when we change speeds.
Definitely get the Acme 1235 prop. You can waste a lot of time fiddling around, or you can just get it now - it's where you will end up anyway with this hull. It's remarkable. Just spend the money.
Always remember, this is a huge hull. It needs lots of ballast. Our ballast sacs extend forward from the storage lockers all the way as far under the seats as possible, and we still put our spare 400# Fly High on the surf side seats if it's just our family. That rear corner rub rail should be at the waterline when you're sitting still.
Start a thread and document everything with lots of photos. We all love that sort of thing especially when we're in withdrawal during the winter months. And I found that taking photos often caused me to view things in new ways. I ripped out and redid a lot of things as a result (to the entertainment of my neighbors) but the final product is awesome. Great story: We just had visitors for a week due to a family wedding. They've been here before, learned to surf behind our boat, etc. They just bought a new Nautique and are really proud of it (as they should be, Nautique makes a fine product). They were nice about it but there were still those friendly little murmurs about how their new boat is so advanced, too bad they couldn't bring it with them, etc. Until they got back on our boat and went surfing. When the afternoon was over, their teenaged son said "I forgot how awesome your wave is. This is way better than anything our new boat can do." And the best part was, his parents were nodding in agreement behind him!
Can't wait to see how your 24Ve turns out for you!

Thanks ID so my current setup right now is a 750 in locker, 400 under seat, and about 150 on top of the 750. Then I have about 90 pounds in lead weight behind the rear false wall by the taps pump. Granted I don't think some of these bags are totally full so my guess is maybe about 1000-1100 in rear corner. This seemed to work well for us all last week although we had a crew of about 8-10. Now just the 4 of us went out same setup and wave wasn't very good. Not much push. I know that the wave will be a whole lot better when I get custom sacks and gut the rear lockers but this is what I have right now. To me this sounds like it should be a good wave but just wasn't that good without more people. We tried some bow weight today and that just knocked down the wave so I think I need more rear weight before adding bow weight. I think I am going to try adding a 370 sac to the seat and see what happens. What would you recommend taps to be at? Also any other suggestions on weight for what I have right now.
