21v Ballast system, New to ballast

I just bought a 2000 21v Tige 5.7 and am new to ballast, what type of system would be recommended? What are peoples thoughts on an intalled hull intake versus a hose pump? should we go with a 40/60 front back ratio, we currently do mostly wakeboarding and could eventually get into surfing. Are there any recommendations on brands?

    Thank you very much!!

Congrats and welcome to the site. Post up some pics when you get a chance.

Most people that start out manually filling ballast sacs with a pump that you toss overboard, end up plumbing it in after a season or two.

The Fly High sacs are the most versatile in both the number of sac options available and the fitting options that fit the sacs. The Straightline sacs are good, they just dont have the number of options and fittings.

Lots of options on pumps ranging in both speed and price. There are tons of info in the ballast section.

      hey phrank, good boat choice!!

seriously, i use a sumo sac 900lbs in the rear locker and change side depending on my rider....
that was ok for last summer cause we just started surfing, and this season i have been filling coolers with water
to lower the bow. (ALWAYS USE WATER FOR BALLAST). So after a great saturday with 5 riders in the boat and approx 300lbs in bow, i am looking to buy a bow ballast.

in recap, all passengers on the same side, 900lbs rear and 300lbs bow should be pretty good for beginners and
      advanced riders.
if your not wet and smelling gas, you are not having fun!
