    Ballast thoughts 24v

Looking for some thoughts on changing my ballast set up around. Here is what I have currently:
    2005 24v
Typical DIY aerator pump ballast set up with 4 fill pumps and 4 drain pumps
    dual 550s in the rear
dual 350s in the front compartments (dash compartments)
I need to fill an additional 440 in the front walk way to really shape the wake propperly.

I know the rule of thumb is 50/50 or 60/40, but placement of the front weight would have to play a big factor. I am sure there is some math equation out there that would figure this but I have been out of school far too long to try and figure it out, plus practical experience is always better.

Here are my thoughts, I would like to ditch the 440 in the walk way to get that area back usable and was thinking of these two options:
    1. move the 350s forward under the front seats which would move the weight center forward and hopefully eliminate the need for the extra sac, however I don't see being able to fill them 100% in that area
    2. Go to a single bow sac which I know won't get me its full 650lb but would move the weight still further forward.
    3. I guess there is a third option, run less weight in the rear

Anyone play around with doing this? I like the idea of the single bow sac as I don't use those storage areas anyway (except for may anchor which I use maybe once a year). Thanks in advance!

I have the same boat and am currently running the 550 single in the bow, the 1200 starboard/1500 port sacs in the rear and have (3) that I move around, a 400 and (2) 155s. We usually run the front full with the 155s or the 400 in the rear for boarding. For surfing we run the front full with a 155 or 400 up in the walkway and the rear sac full on the surf side of choice. I've had the boat for a few years now and still make changes everytime we go out, I think it's as much a part of the sport as riding is. The 24 does like lots of weight and weight in the front makes a great boarding wake, that's for sure. Enjoy!

I have a 23v that I modded the spray pockets to make the same hull as a 24v. I currently run two 950 on each side of the engine, then the integrated bow sac, which I'm quite certain you get the full 650 out of. Then a 550 down the walk way, and about a 3/4 filled above seat triangle that is rated at 1200. Then we throw a 750 in the cockpit floor as far back as I can. It's a pretty nice wakeboard wake

        Bobby,
We were talking about your spray pocket project this past weekend so glad you brought it up. What was the final verdict. Was it worth the expense and trouble? How about some pics of the final outcome.

          Bobby,
How did you plum that front bow sac, did you use one reversible or two fill and two drain aerator pumps? Trying to figure if there is a way to get away with filling/draining with one ballast puppy. I am hoping to run one fill/drain hose forward and T it to send a leg to each of the "arms" of that sac.

the mod was 100000% worth it. It changed the wake to perfection, it used to roll over the more weight I got in it, now with up to 5000lbs solid as a rock with a very nice lip.

@holiday - I used a jabsco reversible for the front bag, and it works like a charm.

These were the two best pictures of the wake, not the best but at least you can see. Both these pics we were running around 4000lbs with ballast and peeps. Most our pictures are just closeups of us in the air not showing the wake.

              So here you go.

here is a video of the wake without the spray pockets. My buddy is doing a tutorial for We All Ride's website.

I just finished our set up. 750's in the rear and a intergrated sac under the bow. When we do not have enough people (six or so) We have a 450 bag in the walk way in the bow that we use. My son has enough wake for his tricks and he's 6'4"
