    24v ballast install pics needed

I'm on the brink of tearing into my 05 24V.It's time. The sun is finally stickin around and all the lakes around Tahoe are all calm (as they are every spring and fall). I'ts killing me to drive by all that glass every day..and friggin drivin me insane when I see another wake boat

..So I've got 2 1500 enzos for the rear lockers, a 150 brick...and 2 400 Nautique wedge sacks for the bow ready to go.. I'm using 3 Johnson pumps. Got it all at Wakemakers in OR.

Everything is laid out on my living room floor..all organized. I have all the tools too...plus I'm no stranger to plumbing OR mechanics. It should be easy

So far I've been told to mount the pumps near the v drive on the starboard side..AND to mount the Johnsons in front of the motor on the wall behind the seats. Sounds easy. With all that said I refuse to carve up my nice TIGE 'till I can see some pics of other likewise 24V set ups just for reference. I want it done right the first time

    thanks

We have an entire section dedicated to ballast installs as well as the search function on this forum works better then any other. Should be able to find a number of 22/24 V/Ve installs.

I have been searching..for a few days..almost a week. I aren't stupid haha. I know the net has most of the answers to life's questions. I've been all over the forums looking.....

So I got to page 15 on ballast installs..still haven't found the pics of where exactly to mount all the sh*t in a 24v.

I think i'm just gonna wing it...start with full mock ups in the bilge area to make sure all the stuff fits...

Then do what Jason told me to do and that's use a couple of magnets to locate your starting points for thru hulls pilot holes

I swear drillin holes into one's boat is like doin some crazy drug. The mind says 'are you kidding?' haha. I just paid cash for it and everyone I know thinks I'm nuts just for doing that... let alone put a bunch of holes in it...looney

figured I'd get grief over such a question

I pretty much read all those journals last nite.

Maybe I should be more precise...I want to see where someone put all 3 impeller style pumps in the same appx area near the v drive AND where someone mounted 3 Johnson's on the back of the seat side by side.

I know all the other stuff like wiring and plumbing..switches..check valves etc...not my issues. I was just hoping someone would throw up a couple of pics

Im not sure what your issue is with such a remark, but its probably best to turn the attitude down a couple a notches instead of being a smart @$$ toward those trying to offer some help.

I can give you tons of info on stereo stuff, I can give you loads of info on ballast installs, and need be, ill give you more grief then you can handle.

My OP was not a smart@$$ kinda "look it up for your self" response. I knew what you were looking for was posted on this forum and I knew it could easily be found. Trust me when I say that I have read every ballast thread on this forum. Besides, this thread is only a few hours old, so chil.

Now, in 2 separate posts, you have made a reference to using 3 impeller pumps and 3 Johnsons. Not sure I fallow, because the Johnsons you are referring to ARE reversible impeller pumps.

Are you talking about 3 aerator style pumps on a common manifold?

In RE to the reversible impeller pumps: Because they are self-priming, their mounting location is not as crucial as it is for the aerator style. The most important thing is the location of the intake. I prefer to to stay away from directly in front of the transducer. Turbulence off the pickup can cause issues with the speedo and depth finder. Other then that, mount the pumps where you like. Since you already have them, line them up across the seat back and see. IMO, side by side seems too crowded and would require additional elbows in order to have some clearance for the hoses running to and from each one.

I'll post some pics of an install we did on a 24Ve that shows where we mounted the pump and where the intakes were located.

24ve and the 24v are very different. Intakes and such might be different as well.

I stuffed all 3 near the v drive. They're far enuf apart though..shouldn't be a problem with draft. I'm keeping the bow bags full so the 2 pumps for the big sacs have over a foot between them and are off set as well.
