    2009 RZ2 Ballast Upgrade Question

I have a 09 RZ2 with the standard 900lb ballast. Can I purchase the rear sacs that will make it the tige factory surf ballast? I know I should go larger for surfing, but I really dont want to give up that much more storage space.

The great thing about sacs is when they aren't full they lay flat.

yes, from your Tige dealer, but I but of plumbing rework will need to be done in order to plumb them in.

OK, well is there another option that won't require as much replumbing?

This is a little long, sorry. I have the same boat and had the same issues about taking up space when the sacs were full. chpthril was a great help with this issue. It is all a trade-off, bigger sacs, less usable space when they are full for storage. The compromise that I ended up is as follows. Chpthril got me two custom cube sacs that fit in my v-drive locker, they extend no further than the slanted piece of wood that protects the gas fill lines. They each weigh about 510 lb when full and fill the whole locker. When empty I can store a wakesurf board, ropes, extra tsunami pump and 2 extra standard 400lb sacs on them. If we surf, we have to empty the locker anyways, fill the extra 400lb sacs if we don't have enough people in the boat. When they are full I end up with about 760lbs in the v drive locker. I use the extra sacs as needed. We added t-connectors to the existing inlets so no extra holes were cut in the hull. You could start with 2 v drive lockers, manual fill and when you upgrade which will be shortly, you keep them and go with the custom cube, also manual fill, then you could plumb them as an off season project. Hope this helps, there are pics of the custom cube sacs in my boat on the site.

Using a Fly High W709 manual pump to fill and drain the sacs requires no plumbing, but it gets old after about a season.
