Can't find the thread with the ballast pump height comparisons...

A while back we had a good thread going with chpthril and jason@ measuring the install height of various pump and fitting choices. I've searched but apparently I can find everything except that thread. Help! Warm weather is coming and I'm starting to plan.

    Thanks!

Have you ever used the 405C (not "FC") version of the Rule pump? It's got an angled inlet that might make tight installations easier.

Im not 100% so I need to confirm, but I think the 405C has straight threads and not NPT like the 405FC. But, to answer you question, no, I have not used it, and the straight threads is probably why.

Just checked, and you are correct. NPS threads on the angled inlet version. Which brings us back to the old "how to mate NPT to NPS" threads discussion (I wanted to type "thread" but....).

The short, and correct, answer is don't.

its fine just use a lot of thread tape. I have done it many times before and have never had an issue. I have never used it with a pressurized system but you shouldnt have to worry about that.
