    Problem filling ballast

    Greetings from Africa!
I have a 2007 RZ2 and have never been able to fill the bowsac. The pumps were serviced recently and I wonder if there is an air lock in the system.
Has anyone else struggled with this?

Welcome to the group! What part of Africa?

When you hit fill, do you hear the pump making any noise? If you do...

Have you tried to take the pump apart? If you take it apart and then spin the impeller, it might start working again. It worked for me!

Another thing to check is aux battery. If my battery is dead, nothing will work including the taps and pumps.
If its not fun, Why do it?

If pumps work then consider putting an anti-siphon valve between the pump and sacs and mount as high as possible. I used to ahve problems like that then ended up putting an anti-siphon valve on each fill line to the different sacs around the boat. voila, no more problems

What type of through hull do you have? If its the scoop kind, try using some speed to push the water into them, might help to prime those pumps. Typically works for me when they dont work right off.

          Thanks for the replies!
I am from Johannesburg South Africa and do my boating on the Vaal River where I am pleased to say the Tige community is dominating Mastercraft!

The pumps have all been dissembled and serviced and the batteries are good; can hear them working when they are turned on.

Not sure I have a scoop type hull but I have tried reversing to push water into the inlet for the ballast and had no success.

I agree that it is a priming issue and need to get some water with a hose into the sac/pump initially and will try the idea of the siphon valve.

          Thanks!

You need to make sure all the hoses exiting the fill pumps are running at an uphill angle with no droops, if they droop they trap air and wont prime, also you need to check the vent hoses for the same issue , if they droop they trap water like a sink trap and wont vent air which fights the fill pumps.
We have had to reroute many factory set ups to get proper function.
