    Surfing behind a 20i

I know that its not the ideal boat but its what I've got. So does anybody have any recommendations on ballast for both surfing and wakeboarding with a 20i? I'd love to get a decent surf wake if possible. Your recommendations are appreciated.

I surf behind a 21i and use one sack in the back storage area as far to the side that we are surfing on as possible. Then I place another sack on the cabin floor on the side that we are surfing on. You might be surprised at how good of a wake you can get, the smaller boats have less flotation and so it is easier to "sink" them deeper in the water and your wake should be good.

how much weight do you put in the back storage area?

I just sold my 21i but I had her dialed in pretty good this summer. I had a 900lbs sac in the back storage, a 540 on the port side by the motor. Then a 340 kind of sitting on the 540 and the back seat. Once I got the boat sunk I would play around with the integrated bow sac to get the wake we liked...it was pretty good!

I think that each of my sacks hold about 600 pounds, but I'm not exactly sure.

I don't have nearly enough room for that, not only that the gas tank is right below that... so not a good idea...thanks

i got a 2001 20i... I bought a jumbo vdrive sac... it holds 1200# when completely full... I put it on the side of the engine. It works pretty good... The big thing that holds this boat back is the HUGE teak platform cutting into the water. I am hoping to make a custom platform this winter that will prevent this from happening... You can't put too much weight up front or you just end up drenching who ever rides up there. I like taps at about 5ish and then try to hold speed rigth around 11-12... just depends on how many people and whos surfin... I don't have PP either so that is a big problem for me. If you ever get it dialed in perfect let me know how you weight it but so far my setup has allowed me to surf and throw a decent wave.

                for my 03 20 i.
                - I put a 600 in the walkway and then 350 v drive sacs on each side of the motor toching the back seat for boarding.
                - tried surfing a bit. moved the 600 to back seat and kept a 350 next to the motor.
make sure you even out your people weight and back down from the throttle east or the nose will dip into water from the front weight

if i were to get another fat sac I would get a 350# and put it in the walkway as close to the engine as possible... maybe even at an angle to run with the passenger seat ...

again too much weight up front gets the boat swamped...

then maybe a 155#er strapped to the platform... but after that you just don't have many options
