RZ2 ballast - How to fill them

    Hi,

I have just received my new Tigé RZ2 in Geneva- Switzerland. The boat is really great (I had a 20V before). I just don't know how to use the ballasts. I tried through the Tigé Touch but it does not work. Some help will be highly appreciated. Thank you

What year? Dont take this the wrong way, but are you sure it has ballast?

To elaborate on what chp asked, I assume yiur RZ is a 2010 as it has the touch. What stock ballast system did it come with? Pro, surf, or the 900 lb set-up? Regardless of what it is (unless there isn't anything in there) you go to "switches", then ballast, then you'll see the pic of your boat with the four ballast filling options. You simply touch the area you want to fill up twice as the first touch will say "drain". You should hear the pump kick in and the touch will show you in percentage how much water is in the ballast.

It is a 2010 RZ2 with the surf system. I went to switches then ballast and then I press the fill option on the area I want to fill up. But it does not work.

Do I need to set up the ballast system first?

I have the same boat with the same system. Did you ask the dealer?? I have not heard of this problem. When you go to ballast on the touch, does it show the boat with the four areas the sacs can be filled with 0%?

The issue is that the dealer does not know. This is the first boat that he sells with this system (remember that I leave in Switzerland and they don't sell many of these boats). Yes, I see the boat on the Touch , then I press the fill option and nothing happens. Perhaps you can explain step by step what I should do to make it work.
              Thank you.

Have you checked all fuses and breakers? Here is a thread that describes a little about the Medallion control module for the Tige Touch system. There are some fuses in that module. http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/show...getouch+blower

Thank you. I will ask my dealer to check the fuses.

My dealer has been able to check and yes it was a fuse issue. Now everything works. However I don't understand why Tigé is not checking every function before the boat delivery. Tigé is making nice boats with a lot of nice features, but qualitywise there is still room for improvement. I hope that Mr Correll (new Tigé's President) will put a lot of focus on quality moving forward. To me a boat at that price (especially in Europe) must be 100% right first time, and this is not the case yet. Design and innovation are nice but this is not enough.

Glad you got it fixed. Your dealer also has room for improvement....he missed two opportunities to fix it. Once when it rolled in from Tige and 2nd, before it was delivered to you. Tige actually does do an hour sea trial on the boats once the boats are finished.

It had to travel a long way! I would be upset with the dealer for not making sure everything worked properly before delivery.

x2 - I know my dealer found an issue where a ballast supply hose wasn't fitted correctly and water was going everywhere inside the hull. If not for his detailed inspection, I would have been on my maiden voyage sinking and wondering why. We are all human, and when so many people put their hands on your boat through the manufacturing process, mistakes can happen. However, like chp said, there are multiple opportunities from multiple people to correct these mistakes so that we can get that 100% correct boat on delivery.
