    2010 RZ2 surf ballast

I have the stock 1600 lb surf ballast. Last time out, I noticed there was water filling the port side front ballast when I was trying to add ballast for goofy. Is there not a membrane in the ballast sacs up front? I thought it was 200 lb per side? When I started to drain the port side front ballast it seemed to drain both sacs so the Touch was telling me I had 50% ballast remaining up front and it had finished emptying?? Comments? Explainations?? Thanks.

Sorry - I'm no help. But where do you ride? Absolutely beautiful scenery

Those pics were taken with K's driving (DEKELZ.COM) in Mission, British Columbia. By the way, for the guys looking for decals, K's did an AMAZING job on my Reg #'s. I'll post close ups on another thread when it comes up again.

Only the 2000lb pro ballast has split bags at the front (unfortunately). I installed the surf ballast into my 0922ve and I don't even bother filling the front and the wake is awesome.

My understanding of the ballast system is this:

Basic system = 900 lbs - two 250lb tanks and 400lb integrated bow sac up front

Surf system = 1500 Lbs - 2 300lb sacs added to the rear

Pro = 2000Lb - two 400Lb sacs replace single 400Lb sac in the bow.

I'm not 100% on the basic and surf setup as the only 2010 I have been in had the Pro, but I thought this was how the three were setup. If you pull up one of the bow seats, what do you see?

Fully inclosed with fiberglass under the bow cushions. What is the point of the "surf" front ballast if you can't control each side? I thought the surf system was two 200 lb sacs up front and 2 600 lb sacs in the rear? I'm jumping over to the Tige site to investigate.

Single 400 lb tank up front. Any reason to fill this at all??

                Hey Chp,
Do you guys sell a "horseshoe" 400 lb sac that is split in two to replace the single "horseshoe" factory ballast up front. This could be cool as it wouldn't take up as much storage as the pro system, and it seems the plumming is all there to fill either side with the factory surf system. (And empty for that matter.) Still not quite understanding why you would want to distribute weight evenly in the front?

Nope, the Fly High W711 Integrated bow sac is one open sac.

IMO, the open sac will not be a real detriment to the wake. Just fill the rear first, this gets the boat listing, then start to fill the bow, but not all the way. I think most of the water will just migrate to the surf side due to the weight on the surf side in the rear.

Tige has been using 2 fill and 2 drain pumps for the bow sac for years, even with the open bow sac. It fill and drains faster. I like to use 2 drain pumps on my setup as well. This gets the water out of both "legs" of the U shaped bow sac, where a single drain pump may leave some.

A pair of W703 Side Sacs would probably fit. This would give you two individual sac with a combined weight of 520lbs. Or, drop in a pair of the W701 400 lb V-drives for an additional 800 lbs up front.

Thanks. I think I'm going to go the external route and get a couple of 400 lb sacs and a tsunami pump. I'm going to post my wakeboard on the gear page later for sale or possibly for trade. I have a Liquid Force Omega 139 with Liquid force bindings that have both never been used. I find I only really surf now.
