    Ballast wiring question

I put in my vent/drain thru hulls and ran some wire last night but now I need to wire up the switchtes(2) for the aerator pumps (4 total). I found a switch on my dash labeled "FWD/TOWER | AFT" that does nothing and was going to steal power and ground from that for 1 switch but my question is, is there another slot in the fuse/breaker box under the dash that is empty for me to hook the other switch into? If not, I will just run an additional wire from the battery to the switch and then ground it on the grounding strip that is under the dash for everything else.

Also, how is everyone wiring the grounds for the pumps? I had planned on just running a ground wire straight to the battery for each pump and then the 12v supply would come from the switch.

Timmy- I am in the exact same spot as you on my install. I still have no idea how to tap into the power supply (haven't been under the dash yet)but as for the grounds there is a ground bar way up behind the dash and one in the starboard side of the transom that you should be able to ground to.

I can build anything but as far as electrical I am a moron!

I saw the one on the starboard side of the transom but that one is full on my boat.

I pulled my transom light and used the switch for that to power my port side drain pump, worked great out on the lake! 1 down, 3 to go!

Those aerators draw so little power, all you need to do is daisy-chain the power from one switch to the next. The only ground needed at the switch is for the light, if your switches have one.

In regards to the pumps' grounds, run them to either the battery, the engine block, or the ground Buss on the transom. You noted it was full, so just loosen a screw up and slide a horseshoe terminal in. It will be fine to double up the grounds on that Buss.
