    25ZX faster ballast drain

Hey guys. The one thing I don't like about the 25zx is how slow the ballast drains. Gotten so used to running ram fill this summer I got a little spoiled about being able to dump weight on the fly. So my thoughts are to add a secondary drain pump similarly to how the fills work. Thinking of adding a y off the current drain into two pumps, then two check valves and y back together out the same through hull. Assuming I can just tap into the existing wiring, might just need to add a larger fuse. Does anyone know what tige is running for the drain pumps anyways?
Pretty good chance I'm ordering a 2022 so might just try and convince the factory to do it but seems unlikely.

Not sure what pumps you have in your boat but would guess you will need some extra wires and a relay triggered of your existing pump wires to add a pump. Very good chance you may need an extra thru hull too.
I added a Talulah pump on one bag and a pair of kings on another bag cutting fill time in half on my 22v.

Your 25ZX wont drain while underway?

I think the ballast pumps are still the 1200 GPH Attwood Tsunami.

It does just with 5k in ballast and a boat full of people that's a lot of weight to push especially in rough conditions. Didn't realize they're still running the 1200s for the drains.

To my knowledge, ALL the ballast pumps are the Tsunami 1200, just not the drain pumps. At least thats was was used on the last new Tige I was in, which was likely a 2020.

For 2021 they switched to fast fill on the ZX models. Not sure if it’s 2 1200s or what but they fill in about 5 min.

I think the Fast-Fill is just dual fill pumps. Same pumps as used on other boats, just 2 per location.

                My 25ZX drains painfully slow.

One of the small beauties of aerators is you can run em dry. Put the boat on the trailer or lift and press drain all. You can also drain underway without issue. In fact being bow high will typically yield more water drained on Tiges.

I would ask..............Drains slow or takes a long time to drain?

Drains slow means the flow rate of the pumps is not matching the ballast capacity. For ex, you have 3K in total ballast and the flow rate of the pumps should have the ballast empty in 7-10 mins but it takes 15. This is slow.

Takes a long time to drain means there is a ton of ballast to drain. Say you have 4000 in ballast and the flow rate of the pumps has it draining in 15-18 mins and thats what it does.

Slow = theres an issue to diagnose. Takes too long for your liking = need to increase the summed flow rate.

What do you think of the new Centurion boats compared to your Tige? What models have you driven or ridden behind? Ram fill is a sweet option.

Lots of flow rate coming out of the drains. One of the reasons why I would be hesitant to add a secondary drain, too much flow rate for such a small outlet.

Great boats with a great wave. I've been on nearly all of them, 245, 265, 237, 257, fi23/25 just not the new ri230 which supposedly is very good. Personally I find the Tige to be a much more luxurious boat and just more thought out. The Tige does naturally have a steeper wave which some prefer and others not as much.
