    2017 Z3 ballast settings

Just purchased this boat and is my first wakeboat ever. Surfing on the regular side with 3 people in the boat and one surfing, what is the best all around setting to get a longer wave with good amount of push? I also have 6-8 50lb lead bags and an extra bow ballast bag. Should I start with 100% left rear bag, 75% right rear, 70% front left 50-55% front right with lead bags located where? Running Taps 3 settings at what? And speed starts at 10.8?

100% in both rear ballast. also all lead in back, weighted evenly. with the ballast you're running you probably want no more than 50% in front ballast, but put more in the surf side, something like 50/15. also if your ballast timers haven't been set then get them close to where 100=full. i usually fill up everything 100% and if necessary hit fill until they overflow then stop and drain the fronts where i want them.

at the end of the day you can tweak your ballast settings and lead and people (ie live ballast ), but the key for best wave is your pitch and roll. you want to be about 10° bow rise and 6° pitch while underway surfing. taps/surf settings 4 & 3.

get some more lead if you can and put it in the back, it'll really improve the wave. junk in the trunk!

also, speed at 10.8 is a good place to start, you probably don't want to go any slower and may be cleaner and longer if you go up to 11.2-11.4.

Can someone tell me how I can measure these degrees angles and tilts lol. I’m not aware of any gauges on my 2017 that show degrees

Download a clinometer app on your cell phone. Worked for us when we had out 2015 Z3.

I don't know about your boat but my 2016 RZX has it on the touch screen

I'm not sure which screen it's on and unfortunately I won't be back at my boat for a while to look

No worries, I’m pulling it out of the water tomorrow. Replacing rear bags if I can find some. I’ve got to replace a battery and check wiring so I won’t be using any time soon but thank you

They changed the screen in 2017, so it’s not on those. It’s on the ballast screen, for 2016 and whatever earlier years had that screen.
