2012 RZ2 Ballast (port to star board)

    All-

New to the site and new to being a Tige’ owner.

I can only imagine this topic has been beat to death - so my apologies.

The boat we bought has a upgraded 1000 Fatsac on the port side of the boat. My wife and I both surf goofy.... The question is do we add a second Fatsac of similar size on the starboard side? Then the rear would have 2000 lbs?

I understand there will be lots of tweaking necessary - but am looking to find a good starting point.

In 2012 RZ2, you could get a few different stock ballast setups. I believe the surf ballast was 3 bags, and pro ballast was 4 bags. Do you know which yours has?

Few different options, you could look at just re-routing the plumbing and the extra sac to the other side. It might just need some new fittings. You could add another identical bag on the other side as you mentioned, but you wouldn't want to fill the port side all the way. Are you using a wake shaper or just listing?

I had a 2012 RZ2, awesome boat. I had the pro ballast, would fill surf side bags 100% and put people on surf side. If we were running a light crew, I would add 50% to rear non-surf side bag.

If you are looking for a custom set up, Mike (chpthril) can get you everything you need. He is the resident ballast expert.
