    z1

so after countless hours reading every ones installs and all very helpful and nicely done. ive decided to do my own, once its done i will post pictures and a write up as well. im going to do something simular to nharp1 but i was trying to decide what sacks to use and i saw the z1 went with the wedge sac... i was wondering why and if anyone thought of doing the x-2 set up.. as in the x-2 locker sac... the fit in the locker and weight more and i wanted to do the bow sac.. i was just wondering if anyone had any other input then what i have read or any thoughts on how to weight the boat better from trial and era

I posted my install on my z1 on the site as well. You need the wedge sacks for its tapered design and it needs to duck under your back seat. That boat loves weight up front, so I put a integrated bow sac in my bow storage for ~300 lbs of weight. I rarely fill both my rear sacks completely full unless I hav ethat sack filled plus some additional sacks on the bow seats or in the walkway.

At one time, I had the dimensions of the Z1's rear storage, but cant put my hands on them. The 32x18x20 X2 sac looks like it may be a good fit as it's not as long as the W701 V-drive and W708 Wedge sac. Only down side is that the Z1 needs a about a 60/40 ft/rr split, so for boarding, you will want to use a supplemental sac in the bow or walk-thru.

Definitely setup a bow sac of some sort. I fill that one more often then I do the rear sacs. If I have the cabin full of people, I fill the front one up to get a clean wake and plane out quicker.

i think the locker is something like 33x20x20 so i figured the x-2 sac would fit nicely in the rear but i know since its a v drive i needed to weight the front more and im trying to figure out the best way to do the front with keeping the walk through clear. if i have to use the walk through i guess i will but i like the idea of the front integrated sac but my fear its not enough weight and i dont want to have to add lead bars or anything like that. so i was trying to see if anyone had any suggestions on what they have seen or done

I got to take my 08 Z1 out finally and had trouble getting the wake right.I have the fly high v-drive sacs in the rear,me driving (225) and 2 friends (1 on each side), and a fat brick I put in the walkway. If I even tried to adjust the taps it would porpous really bad.Wake was kinda washy,so we let about half out of the rear sacs and it was somewhat better.I'm at work now, but I have the intergrated bow sac,2 ballast puppies, and a fly high tube sac for the walkway to try out.I'm filling with a tsunami now and its aggravating.I need to know what thru hulls to get.I need my suction to have 1" pipe threads.I can get all the fittings, shutoff valve, and hose from work.I'm gonna use 1 ballast puppy for the rears,1 for the bow sac,and the tsunami for any sacs in the floor. Can anyone hook me up with the thru-hulls I need? I found some on ebay for cheap, they are stainless with a 3/4 barb fitting,I plan to use them for my vent/overflow if they are ok.The only one that concerns me is my suction.I need a thru hull to 1" pipe threads.I found a brass one but would like stainless,or would brass be ok? Sorry for the hi-jack,but when I get home holes will be drilled lol..

You do not want stainless for the intake thru-hull below the water line, and bronze is more suited for the marine environment then just brass.

Thanks for the tip.I like the one with the scoop in DieselPWR's pics.Where can I pick one of those up? I'd like to get it with a 1" npt nipple sticking up.I have all sorts of 1" npt valves,bushings,nipples,t's,90's,ect..I may even use #8 hydraulic hose,I have access to all the hose and fittings I would need, and it'd be free lol.

DieselPWR, how is your wake @ 70' @ 21-22 MPH? What taps setting and weight have you found to be the best for wakeboarding? I bought this boat new as an 08 leftover and got a smoking deal on it.The only thing it didnt have was the ballast system.I'm coming from a DD moomba outback and expected the wb wake to be much better.I'm sure it will be once I get the ballast figured out.Thanks..

I have a 1-1/4 Thru-Hull scoop that I don't need. If you want to pick up the shipping it's yours.

You wont find many marine plumbing that's NPT. Most is straight thread.

I bought everything from SPBFAN. You can PM him.

Bocephus05, sounds like you need to weight the front more. I keep my rear sacs half full at most while wakeboarding and fill my integrated bow sac full (~300 lbs with the small bow) and either throw two more fat bricks on the bow seats or a v drive sac in the walk way. 70 mph cleans up around 23 mph, and I keep the taps low around 2-3. But putting the majority of the weight in the front and center of the boat is key. I only fill the rear sac full when I am surfing, which by the way when you weight it right the Z1 puts out a delicious wave. Keep in mind too that the Z1 (maybe its all tiges) puts out a wider wake too. I ride at 65' and my buddy who rides in the outlaw division will ride that or 70'.

kknobl58185, I put an integrated bow sac in the storage compartment which I am guessing it fills up to ~300 lbs with the small bow volume. I think that is about the best you can do for an auto fill. Then I fill up sacks manually on the seats or walkway. But I fill that bow sac in the compartment first thing when I get out on the water.
