Congrats and welcome to the site!

There are a couple of active members with 23V's and both do quite a bit of surfing. One is Moki and the other I cant remember

I have a custom sac that we designed specifically for the 22Ve and RZ2, but is seemed to be a great fit in someones 23V, I just need to figure out who it was . Any way, the custom sac fills to about 1K Lb's. Seems that most like to run all the weight in the back on the surf side and none up front.

Let me know if I can help in any way with your ballast components needs

The other is Surfdad. Probably the finest 2300 wake on the planet. Seriously.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

Oh ya, congratulations c2, that is probably the best surfing used boat you can buy. They can handle a ton of ballast and have a better wake shape than most new boats. Plan on a new prop if you're going to add any considerable ballast. Basically, anything surfdad has done is a great way to go. Same goes for Moki.

On my boat, 02 23v, last year I used two 400lbs bags stacked on top of each other in the v-drive locker. With a 350lbs bag sitting on the seat. With everyone sitting on the side surfing. Here's a pic of surfing.

For wakeboarding you are going to want weight about 50/50 front and back. This year I'm going with two 850lbs in the rear compartments, the integrated bow sac (600lbs) it fills almost full, and either two bags down the front walk way (850lbs) or a gravity games sac (1100lbs). That should make for a nice wakeboarding wake. I'm also having the spray pockets glassed in so I don't get the curl at the top of the wake. Here's a pic from last year.

            and the boat chillin
