    WAKESURFING BEHIND 2005 22V

Tried wakesurfing for the first time over the weekend.
    Boat: 2005 Tige 22V
Ballast: Factory fitted rear port full (Not sure of weight)
    540Lbs sac in rear locker
540lbs in corner on rear seat(Port side)
350lbs under rear seat (Port side)
Played with factory fitted forward ballast.
    Crew: Driver 220lbs
    Observer 40lbs
    Speed: Played between 10 & 13 Mph
    Taps: Played between 2 & 6
    Board: Liquid force custom 4'6"
    Riders weight: 190lbs
Managed to go ropeless pretty easily, but the sweet spot was very short & close to the ski platform so no room to generate speed for moves.Generally don't have alot of human ballast on board. Any advice as how to lengthen wave or the recommended set up for my boat?Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks Ross.

Need to add more wieght forward on port side or reduce wieght in back port. Also make a slow left turn when rope is released.

Looks like you got plenty of weight in the boat. The 2 things that will increase the length of the pocket are: increasing speed and adding weight in the bow. I would add weight in the bow without removing weight from the rear first. The 2 mentioned tips above, will also shorten the wave and reduce the push a little. This sometimes makes it a struggle for beginner wakesurfers.

We have 07 22Ve w factory ballast and here's our setup:
          both rear tanks full
Fatsac in port rear locker about 500 lbs
          dad drives (250)
jr sits in port corner (100 lbs)
          TAPS at 5-6
          no ballast in front
          9.5-10 mph for speed
          creates good wake
If 2 passengers it becomes real good and if 4 passengers its super great
going to experiment w ballast fwd on port side this summer
Chpthril showed us this setup on a visit and works well but we continue tuning.

check this thread for video and more if u want to see

good luck and have fun - really jealous u r going out

Gotta be an Aussie! That is the only place I can think of that would be that warm.

Thanks.Amazing the passion amongst the members to keep improving their 'wave'. Not many people in CT wakesurf, in fact I have not seen anybody doing it. So equipment is limited & generic.(boards). looking at importing a fresh air exhaust system. Any comments? Does it work, is it necessary?
                            Cheers Ross

Ross this forum is super and has been very helpful as newbie to wake boats for me. I kinda feel for ya since you are in South Africa which is a long way off. I don't have FAE but on my list. Many comments here are highly complimentary on FAE and you may want to start a new thread for better visibility. Perhaps do a search on FAE or Fresh Air exhaust to find more here. good luck.
