I just bought an 03 21i and I want to put a ballast system in. I don't want to fill sacs all time and I was wondering if anyone knows of a system I can get installed and plumbed.

If your somewhat mechanical you can plum your own system in. You can do a search for ballast system installs on tigerowners. Myself and a few others have done our own systems. We have a few members that can get you everything you need to do your own system.
Congrats on the new boat and good luck.Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity. Albert Einstein

Right now, not yet anyway, there really aren't any off-the-shelf all-in-one DIY box kits. What many have done, and are doing, is putting together thier own systems. There are outlets through tigeowners.com where you can get buy the main components i.e: sacs, pumps, hose, thru-hull fittings, elbows, shut-off valves, clamps, labeled switches, etc. Then you can piece some of the other mics parts from common PVC and other plumbing supplies.
There are 2 basic types of systems - Those that use the more expensive reversible impeller type pumps and those using aerator type live-well pumps. Pro and cons of both.
Here is some info I posted in another thread
There are tons of threads with the pros/cons of both types of pump systems used. It really comes down to personal preference.
The Ballast Puppies are more expensive (MSRP = $239 ea) and have less flow drop due to hose length and head pressure, but are prone to frequent impeller failures, but these can be cut down with the design/layout of the system.
The aerator type pumps are inexpensive (about $35 ea) so a 7 pump system (3 fill, 4 drain) can be had for the cost of 1 Ballast Puppy. These pumps draw less current and are nearly bullet proof and typically give years of trouble free service, but again, great care needs to go into designing and layout. The only to main con's are that they can vapor-lock is not laid out just right, and loose flow rate over long hose runs...just means there a little slower.
I've built both types, and will continue to do soLast edited by chpthril; 09-29-2009, 09:26 PM.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

thanks a lot guys...I attached a pic of the boat I bought. It has 63 hours on it and has been in heated storage for the last 4 years. It is like brand new and it was the showboat on the floor in abbotsford and has every option you can get. Got a great deal which worked out well as I wanted a tige...Attached Files
