    weighting a 2001 2300v limited

just bought a 2300v limited having trouble getting a good wake. it keeps rolling over until about 25mph. would prefere to wakeboard around 22mph. any suggestions on weighting ?
I have two 250 lb sacks that i have been moving around originally i had them under the bow seats. I tried moving them back and just put them on the ground in the rear and that seamed to help.

Congrats and welcome to the forum.

I cant give you any specific info for setting up the ballast and wake on that boat, but can offer a few general things to look for and try.

1st, confirm the speedo is accurate.

Next, make sure the TAPS is operating correctly. This will have a huge effect on the shape and cleanliness of the wake.

Are the two 250's the only ballast you are using, or is that on top of the factory ballast? If the wake is rolling over on both sides, it sounds like a speed or ft/rr weight distribution problem

I have a 21 v and I put a 750 # in the port locker and I add another 400 under the seat on the port side. I also have about 4 adults and 3-6 kids for extra weight. That gives a pretty nice wake. So since you are 2 feet longer then mine. So you need more weight lots more then the 250 your using. Just my 2

i have an 02 23v, and if you have spray pockets on the back of your hull, your going to a little bit of wash at the top. I always put the taps down to around 3 if I running a bunch of weight, and helps a lot.

My weight config is as follows. I have a two 400 in the v-drive locker, a 550 on ground in the back, 300 in the walk-way, and the 650 bow sac. Then if I have a bunch of people in the back of the boat I move the 550 to the walkway with the 300.

the spray pockets just make the wake have a little curl at the top, when heavily weighted down. Most say it's cosmetic, and trust me you can still go huge. But I think that it effectively cuts out a couple of inches of the wake at the top, and makes it not quite as solid. That's why I'm filling in the spray pockets this winter or spring.

let me know how that works for you. i bought (2) 500 lb sacks and another 250 lb sack with my original sacks this will be a total of 1750lbs hopefully this will do the job.
