Where are you guys finding the elbows with NPS to fit the thruhull?
If you are searching hardware/plumping supply type stores, that probably what you will find. A marine supplier will have all sorts of Bronze fittings to mate with the thru-hull. I have a marine supplier that I by wholesale through.

      Npt street 90

That is a NPR street 90. With pipe dope I get NO leaks. I picked it up at a plumbing supply and I believe it was about $9.00.

I’m not sure about how possible some of the things you mention would be, but there is one setting that may interest you, if you haven’t seen it already

This is the first time I have heard of overheating when going off of the raw water intake. It seems that lots of guys have done it without a problem. I was always leary of stealing water from the engine, but never had proof that it was an issue until this one thread.

            Anyone care to speculate why?

Very nice system. The one thing I would struggle with is that storage space is gone. If you want your storage space then you have to take out the tanks.
