    09 Ballast Pics/Info Wanted

Well, the 2010's are just around the corner and we have yet to get any pics and info about this new, in-floor ballast. I've made 2 request to people at Tige, and it has so far fallen on def ears If my boy Randy was still with Tige, he would have had me to the factory by now Ben, Mark, Tony

Well, any way, I got a Tige owner looking to add ballast and would love to get some insight on the factory system in order to best design/configure additional ballast. If anyone with an 09 with the new ballast would be willing to take some pics and share, I would appreciate it. That goes for you guys at the factory, cause I know you got 1 or 2 in stock

My one big regret in choosing options on our boat is that we didn't get the factory ballast. I hadn't realized that they had switched to below-floor tanks. If I only knew then what I know now. Wish I could help.

If no pics by this weekend, I will post some (boat 45 mins away at slip).

Nothing to take a pic of for the rears -- the tanks are below the deck (and no modification of deck height). I will get pics of the front bag and plumbing along with switches.

IMO, my friend has a rz4 2009, and i think the wake is really bad when ballast is full. I don't know if its just how he has his boat set up, but when I rode behind it the wake was really washy.

The hull didnt change and from what I understand, the new setup is still around 900lbs as before. Knowing this, I dont undrstand why, except for maybe to slow a speed, maybe not enough in the bow? That sac should fill damn near full on an RZ4 though

He probably is putting the TAPS plate to 8 IMO. Should be around 4-6 but not knowing every detail of what he has going on.

I believe at the time his speedo wasn't working either, so we may have been going a little slow. But i've seen from pictures that his wake looks washy alot of the time. I don't know if it has any thing to do with the weight sitting lower in the boat. He also told me that the boat is more "weight sensitive", so he has to be more careful where people sit.

Yes, I have heard issues with people that have RZ4's and weighting that boat where they don't have issues with the wake. The RZ2 does a much better job but I think that the RZ4's hull needs to be changed up a little.

For my 2008 RZ2. If I am pulling a rider under 22 mph then I do not fill the ballast.
If its not fun, Why do it?

Correct on the speedo broken at the time which was driver error... However now half way into the season or a little past that i got the boat pretty well figured out we are running 1000lbs stock ballast with 2 80lb fat sac bricks one not full and those are up front speed around 23-24 taps at 5 or 8 depending on water depth etc riding out at 65ft. However when riding out at 80ft which we've done many times we run 24.5mph taps at 6 or 7 and 4 people or so up front. With the new ballast i have to have people move around to balance the boat. However i am thinking about getting some lead to move around and balance. My friend also has a 1200lb sac we may put in my boat in the center of the floor or half front half back in the walk way to figure it out plan to test it sometime this week will post how it works.

So after filling that 1200lb fat sac in the back wasn't filled full only to i think 1000lbs but put it in the back in the middle of the floor filled the stock ballast 900lbs and then two 80lb bricks were up front in the walk way underneath the center bow filler and the wake was killer! ran about 23.8 and taps at 8 had a nice mellow lip on it and would pop the **** out of you.
