    Ballast 2003 22i

    Hi Folks,

Just bought a 03 22i and will be picking it up next week. Ihave not had the opportunity yet to have it on the water. I was thinking maybe I should try and grab sacs while down in the States.

It's a general question but could anyone give me an idea on what size and manufacturer of ballast bags I may want to think about.

make sure they are fly high fat sac. V-drive sacs or side sacs. for the back are you going to be wakesurfing or wakeboarding?

Dave, There are few pics in this thread of the ballast install I did this spring. I used the same sacs Jake refers to and filled manually all last season. Good luck...you'll love the 22i!

It seems that we should go with the 750's in the back and the intregrated one in the bow.

        1. Would the rear gravity games sacs be too lite? They are 19x19x42 for 565 Lbs.
        or
should we go with the 750's.

        2. the 750's are 20x20x50. The compartment is only 14 or 15 inches wide, Does this create any problem??

        3. For The bow sac I should get the 650 ingregrated proX series.

We Will be filling these manually (pump over board). I want to put in a fully auto system, and I am assuming there should be lots of DIY info threads. Have you plumbed a full auto system??

Can't wait to pick up the boat next wednesday!!!!!! We've been boatless now for 3 days

          1. Go with the V-Drive sacs - 42x16x16
          2. Don't think they will fit well, the compartments are tapered down
          3. yes

^^^ The above link shows the integrated system on our 22i. I can take some pictures of the bags filled if that helps.

I recommend you try the boat first without ballast - we used our boat one entire season with none and worked on technique. After my son landed his first invert the next spring I added the weight to help him progress.

I have no doubt we will need the sacs right a way.

            Thanks for the info

we had launch pads they make a 440 that fit in there perfect we ran one in each rear locker and the on in the bow and then had to 85 lb blocks to mover around but we always had to throw the blocks in the front or have someone sit up there
