As for as I know they only make two types, one being a Razor and the other called a Switch Blade. I have had both, and have not had any major shaking issues. ( thats with 4 Tower speakers)
The Razor is made of 2.5 inch tubing and the Switch Blade is 3 inch tubing.
Maybe his tower was loose, or I have not been in a real stiff tower.. I don't know?
Either way, no complaints from me about my Samsonshttp://wake9.com/

I have to drive to oregon to do this, but I got a price of $3400 for the razor, and $3850 for the switchblade, installed, and he would haul away my old tower, and I would put it on ebay, and he would ship it for me. Its a lot of dough, but I really love the look of that switchblade, and I can't stand how difficult it is to take my tower up and down. When I bought my boat, I didn't know I was going to be needing to do that, so didn't think about it.http://wake9.com/

Do any of the new towers have a higher towing capacity than the E-Series used on the 07 20V. What dot they typically cost?

Fold the tower down, now smear a fine film of lube on the contact points of the 2 joints at the windshield. Put a small amount on the shoulder of both bolts also. Raise tower back up, and install the 2 bolts. Now, wipe a little in the area where the up-right contacts the tower, put a little on the shoulder of the bolts here also, and install.
Tighten everything down. I would also recommend that the mounting bolts/nuts be torqued also. On my Ve, I think I used a 13/16 deepwell socket in the front, and a 3/8 allen for the rear and torqued to 22lbft.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

Mounting bolt tightness was a problem in the past as well. Where did you come up with the 22lbft torque spec? I've always been afraid of tightening too much and cracking the fiberglass.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

The reason I was wondering was when I attempted to tighten the front bolts, I did start to hear what I thought was some cracking from underneath where the metal plate and the fiberglass meet. Either wrong position for plate (it can swivel), or loose fiberglass matting, or.... .Last edited by MRMoffat1; 01-19-2008, 05:52 PM.
