Mr. Thrill, why would you fix it if it ain't broke?
Because the little "e"s tend to be a tad rough on the knees when climbing onto the swim deck.
Plus, the blue/black GG matches my boat perfectly

Did any of you see the thread on Wakeworld where the guy had a Supra with the same problem.
My boat is always garaged...is it just a simple matter of a lot of sunlight on it?
Yes, I also commented on the person with this and advised to change his matting the two other posts. I gave up the third time he posted complaining about the same thing.
I think you have probably hit the nail on the head with this Tall. I do keep mine swimplatform in the elements and there is sun beating down on it. I have heard that this could be the problem previously but haven't done anything to it.
The other issue that I have is the wakeboard racks doing the same thing. The dealership that I go to changed out the old ones and gave me new ones because the rubber that the company used was terrible. However, I am already getting the same issues with the new black rubber parts.
If anyone thinks this is a poor "design" by Tige, or even think this problem is unique to boating, go out to your car and drag your finger across the the windshield molding, wiper blade, or any other black rubber and guess what you will find black stuff.
The root cause is OZONE......any rubber or plastic will, over time, deteriorate due to the atmosphere
Rubber can be made with certain UV inhibitors, but acid rain and other contaminants in the air will damage the rubber

Very good point. However, this is why I would like to get away from a rubber mix on the platform material. A denser foam material seems like it would be better suited for this application.
