Chine removal on a 24v

Wouldn't you be eliminating the convex hull if you filled them in? Plus the obvious loss of V. I can't imagine anyone at Tige ever saying it would be ok to cut the chines off and I don't blame them. Way too much liability involved. Cutting a structurally critical edge off the hull and scabbind in a new section would be highly un-advisable if you were just going to wing it as a first timer. That being said, a good glass guy should be able to handle it.
I still think its the best option. You'll get your chance, smart guy.

It seems to be easier and less drastic that cutting up the hull. But your fiberglass guy is the expert. I am not an engineer.
Too bad you do not have a rotisserie to turn it bottoms up.Wake Up or Stay On Shore!

Getting closer to getting my chines removed! Fiberglass guy said around 2-3 weeks. I have decided once this is done that my 24v will be reborn a Z24 or 24Z. I haven't figured out which one sounds better yet. I plan on doing this and testing before I attempt the malibu floating wedge install.Build thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v

He quoted me at only 400. But I am figuring that number will over double. He is a friend but I don't see this being as easy as he thinks. There are ribs on the belly of my boat that stop about 2-4 feet back so I think I will run the chine removal at least 4 feet up on both sides.Build thread: http://www.tigeowners.com/forum/showthread.php?14787-Duffy-s-2005-24v-wakesurfing-mod-thread&highlight=duffys+24v
