Try fed-ex for the surfboard shipping. I think it cost me about $30 to ship one not too long ago. I did all of the packing. I used a couple of bicycle boxes and cut and taped to fit and made the package as small as possible. Also I went straight to a fed-ex shipping office in Arvada not at one of these pack and ship places.

I can tell you from shipping a few wakeboards, once the box goes over 4 inches thick, the price goes up. I have played with the online pricing and that is the line they draw. They even say if over 4 inches round up. I print my labels using 4 inches and have had a few additional charges show up on my account if they check.
              Let it be!!!

Its hard to pack a surfboard decent and stay at 4 inches. Take it from a guy who has recieved 5 damaged wakesurfers in shipping

Seriously guys I think is was about $30. I can not remember the exact cost but I swear it was very reasonable to ship to Texas from Colorado. Here is the link to where and why it went. Unless they changed in the last year in how they price for shipping which is very possible. I got it there in one piece without any damage with my home made box.

Ship to business if you can, it will save you 50% in most cases.
