    Tower Speakers

Selling my original tower speakers. ( Looks kind of wimpy compared to the Wetsounds) They are Sony Xplods in Metcraft cans. They fit a 2 inch tower. These were installed at the beginning of 2006 and used for 2 seasons. Being replaced by the Wetsounds. They are more to enhance the inside the boat experience, use while beached or if you have Fresh Air Exhaust, project well to a surfer. Not great to project back to a wakeboarder. Currently powered by a Boss Chaos 550 which is a 2 Channel Amp at 125 RMS per channel. Willing to sell speakers and amp together or separate. No pictures of amp yet as I have not removed it from the boat. Thinking of $100 + shipping for all.

    Info on Amp
    Max power, 2 ohm 400w x 2

    RMS power, 4 ohm 125w x 2

    Bridged Power, 4 OHM 800w x 1

    Signal-to-noise-ratio 102 dB

    THD 0.01%

    Dimensions, LxWxH 11 1/4” x 11 3/8” x 2 11/16”

So, will I need to add an amp to use them? I am looking at buying a Switch V that has the clarion unit in it.

Actually its $100 for the 2 speakers and an amp to power them. I would disagree with my friend chpthril on his assesment and opinion of the speakers.
I have had several people PM me about these and I am replying by PM with the additional info

Jim, my deepest apologies. I did not mean to sabotage your listing at all, and have asked Matt to delete my post. My choice of words to describe the speaker was very poor on my part and I should not have tried to "help". A $100 is an awesome deal, a steal if you will, for and amp, cans and working speakers.

          PM sent.

If no one buys them, I will.

You really need an amp to power the tower speakers.

that is a GREAT DEAL if your looking to get into the tower speaker game it dont get no better. sure you could run them off the radio but in a real world you need an amp. and at a 100 bucks its a no brainer. and if jim is the one selling them than you can dam sure know they are going to be as advertised.

So, nother dumb question. If I only have one battery in my boat, do I need to look at adding a 2nd one? I heard you should, if you are going to run an amp.

Also, will these fit a 2004 tige tower?

                thanks.

I have 2 people ahead of you with interest. On my old 20V I ran 2 amps with only 1 battery. I added a second battery a year later just to give me piece of mind that the boat would start.

Depends what your tower looks like. I believe in 04 the stock Tige tower was 2 inch

I'd add an extra battery so you don't get stuck on the lake. The amplifiers will drain your battery more than your head unit did.
