my buddy is in great need of a bimini for his newly acquired 2000 21i. new to this stuff, so do we need to go through Tige for one, or can we find an 'universal' or whatever bimini? where would you guys say the best route would be in getting one?

Check out this thread. It might help you with a selection and there is some talk of a possible group buy....

If you considering a new tower sometime in the near future, you may want to look at moving up the new tower or pushing back the bimini and do the 2 together because most biminis are made to fit the tower.Mikes Liquid Audio: Knowledge Experience Customer Service you can trust-KICKER WetSounds ACME props FlyHigh Custom Ballast Clarion LiquidLumens LEDs Roswell Wave Deflector And More

I totally agree with what chpthril said. That boat has the infamous Metrcraft tower that everyone and their brother, including myself, has had countless problems with. If you put a bimini on that tower, you are going to end up replacing it and buying another bimini. you could save money in the long run by getting a new bimini when you get a new tower. If you ain't falling.. you ain't trying hard enough..

i filled him in on the Metcraft tower as soon as you guys brought it up a while back. in talking to him a few minutes ago about the top, i basically said...$800 for a bimini now, or around $2000+ for a better tower and top. we'll see which route he goes.
we were wondering if the Tige dealer might be able to get a hold of a NOS bimini top for the metcraft tower (if Tige actually keeps stuff like that), and perhaps it would be on the less expensive side.
i would personally rather just get one with a new tower. however, assuming we get at least a season out of the metcrap tower, $300 for something NOS or used or whatever would almost be worth it for coverage from the Texas sun until a new tower comes along.Last edited by TXST8tj; 05-03-2007, 08:01 PM.

I have a Titan Series II tower and love it. If he goes that route, have him make sure the measurements he sends in to Titan has enough room for the front windshield to open. Mine needed about another 2" to open properly.
The Titan bimini is way to low in my opinion. I am getting a bimini custom made for about $500. It should be done next week.If its not fun, Why do it?
