Recently got a lake house but our dock will not be ready until next summer. My question is, does anyone use mooring whips? And if so, what size whips? (2017 Z3)

Just bought and installed a set for my new 21 footer. So far they work like a charm. Figured I would go bigger rather than smaller, maybe overbought but went with these from Amazon:
