    New Boat Fenders from MISSION

    Hey All,

Just thought I would share this info on the new SENTRY boat fenders from MISSION. I received a promo email from them regarding their booth at the upcoming Minneapolis Boat Show (THIS WEEKEND ).

They look like a pretty nice setup. I can provide some feedback after seeing them at the show this weekend if anyone would like.

It is funny how we spend a fortune on these boats but accept crappy fenders designed for a tug boat 100 years ago. This is a good idea.

I’m gonna keep my eyes open for these. Plus the other member made those big ball ones too. Can’t remember his name off hand.

These fenders from mission look really interesting. I’d love to test some out. I’ll say, I was one of the first buyers of the Mission Reef mats. It is by far my favorite boat item. Worth every penny. The only negative is it’s pretty heavy.

Do I spy a larger Reef mat in that video? That would be awesome. But man I bet it weighs a ton.

They look like they might be hard on the gel coat. I just have this feeling the foam will stick to the boat and smear away with friction holding it on creating scuffs.

I didn’t realise those mission ones were foam. I wonder how long they would last.

How do you inflate your mission mat? I just bought one for next summer. Seemed like the hand pump might not be my huckleberry.

dakota4ce - We have a Mission Reef mat and I use a electric pump to get it 90% of the way. Then use the hand pump to make it stiff...haha that sounds wrong...

                ^^^we do the same^^^

Yes, if it doesn't get stiff, always use your hand.

I use a pump designed for stand up paddle boards. Its expensive at $160. But I feel its a must for the Reef mats. It is 2 separate pumps in one. The first stage moves lots of air to get the mat aired up about 90%. The second stage uses a piston to get to the desired pressure. It locks into the mat valve and has an automatic shutoff at your desired set pressure. Its a set it and forget it tool. It is a lifesaver.

It allows you to do other things while the mat is blowing up and it sure as hell is better than the hand pump. I also like the ability to get the pressure up high making the mat really stiff. Its the only way to go

The best price I found was at Austin Kayak Company. If you sign up for their email list they'll immediately send you a coupon to use. AKC is one of the very few places you can use a discount code on Yeti products. Link below.

Did you find one with the correct fitting to connect?

For inflating my Hobie Kayak when I had it, I bought one of these and it was AWESOME. Takes longer than standard pump as it is high psi not flow, but for the money nothing beat it.
