    Looking for a first wakesurfer

Like the title says, I'm shopping around for a wakesurfer for my family...I've been looking at new ones and I have a hard time spending $250+ on a board when nobody in my family has ever done this sport before. I keep checking craigslist, etc for a used board to try out but there are none within my surrounding area and/or they are all too expensive.

Anyway, I wanted to post this here to see if anyone was looking to unload a used wakesurf board, the cheaper the better. It will only be used for one season to hopefully hook the wife and then we will look at getting a better board....(didn't help that I bought both of us new wakeboards this offseason already) lol

Where are you located? I have a CWB Tsunami that I might be willing to part with.

$250 is a very beginner basic wake surf board...Seems about right.,

CWB Ride is a good starter board. Academy used to carry them for around that price as well. I think I picked ours up at the end of a season for $200.

We bought a Ronix board that has a foam front that is great for beginners so if anybody hits the back of the boat it won't hurt it.You keep it for anybody that wants to try on your boat.

So let me ask the hard question, how much have you AND your wife used the wakeboards? I will bet the surf board would be a better bet for use depending on the boat you own! Sell the wakeboards and buy an all around surfboard to learn on/boat board and have much more enjoyable time on the water. That's the experience most families have. Now if you have a part time job and can spend 3 or 4 days a week on the water to dial in wake board tricks then by all means teach your wife how to land 540s and make you tube videos

That ronix board is called a marshmellow, it's covered in foam and very forgiving

My wife and I and most of our friends learned on the CWB Tsunami. It is more of a intermediate skim board, but it will last longer. We learned very quickly and I was glad that I went ahead and skipped the true beginner board because the Tsunami was more fun in the long run. We eventually upgraded to a Ronix Parks Carbon Thruster.

I learned on a second hand CWB Razor. Its kind beat up after a lot of use, but we sure got a lot of people up on that board. $250 is not unreasonable for a beginner board. In my area, its also very hard to find used wake surf boards

x2 on that hyperlite shim 4'7 easy to learn on and we keep around for friends to learn on. Small board but easy to handle, just put more weight on the back of it and I guarantee you'll love it! Buy a couple year old model and save $$$.

Burn......I have 3 older boards I can take pics of for you. I have a Liquid Force Noserider ( its a little beat up but I can sell it pretty cheap ) I have a Ronix Cortez that's a compression molded board ( nearly indestructible ) and I have a Shredd Stixx Stixxtreme. Let me know if you're interested in any of them. You can email me at billy.bowler@yahoo.com
