Any of you live in Mich, and would be willing to take me for a rip? I'd really like to demo one of these.
That said, keep your eyes peeled. I'll send a sixer of belgian ale to the one who spots the unicorn for me.
If you come to NC, you are more then welcome to ride.

With all you want to do would you consider a v drive of similar year and price? Or are you still set on the unicorn? May be tough but worth it to test both.

Don't get me wrong, you can do it all behind a 22i, you just can't have competition ski wakes. What I would do if I was you would be to find a nice 21v that you can turn into a surf machine. When empty, it will still put out a good recreatioal wake for skiing but, the rest of your desires won't suffer. If you put your slalom wake first, everything else will suffer. So now you have the surf/pontoon/rec. ski boat but you still want some tournament wakes. Does your buddy have a Prostar or a Response or the like because if you have a surf boat, he is gonna ride with you until its time to go hit the course. Then you can jump in his ride. Best of both worlds. Or, find on an old stars and stripes or maybe a tru-track or nautweek that you can strip down to a floating gas tank just for ripping sets. Who cares what it looks like, your other boat is dope.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

            Here's one on craigslist...

And a bunch more; however, some more than you're willing to spend...

thanks jmitchell. The one it austin looks like yet another one without a pylon. Did dedicated wakeboarders really choose direct drive boats? I would think the only reason you would pich this guy would be its skiability/versatility. By 2001 there were a fair amount of v-drives on the market.

is the 21v ski wake comparable to the 22i? Im going to take a pull on a friend's malibu v-ride on friday. That will be my first experience skiing behind a v-drive.

One thing to consider is hull shape. The '01 and on 22i are more of a V in order to enhance the wake board wake. 2000 and earlier are a flat bottom slalom type shape. Just a really big one.
You'll get your chance, smart guy.

This isn't EXACTLY what your looking for, but pretty dang close...price is a little higher, but around here it is normal. Go check this one out. We just bought a 2000 22i that looks just like this one. I am not much of a skier (I surf) but I love our boat!!Good luck to you. Here's the link:
